Position Summary
The Division Director, Nursing, Onsite Health is a senior nursing leader responsible for the strategic direction, clinical oversight, operational performance, and regulatory compliance of multiple employer-sponsored onsite and near-site health centers, with a primary focus on occupational health services. The Division Director ensures consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, employee health, workplace safety, and accountability. The Division Director also provides leadership and oversight to nursing leaders supporting primary care and population health services within onsite health centers.

 

While not expected to serve as the primary clinical subject matter expert for all aspects of primary care delivery, this role is responsible for guiding, mentoring, and supporting nursing leadership to ensure alignment with organizational standards, quality objectives, and care delivery strategies. Experience with population health, preventive care, chronic disease management, and employer-sponsored primary care programs is highly desirable. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, operational leaders, and client stakeholders, the Division Director develops and implements occupational health strategies that support injury prevention, early symptom management, return-to-work programs, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation management, and overall workforce health and productivity.

 

The role provides leadership for nursing practice, clinical quality, staff development, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational goals. Some travel is required. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


• Provide strategic and operational leadership for assigned onsite and near-site occupational health centers, ensuring alignment with organizational and client objectives.
• Direct, mentor, and develop nurse managers, registered nurses, and ancillary clinical staff to foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the delivery of occupational health services, including injury prevention, early symptom intervention, fitness-for-duty evaluations, regulatory medical surveillance programs, return-to-work initiatives, and workers' compensation case management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards, workers' compensation requirements, clinical practice standards, and organizational policies.
• Monitor and drive performance against key clinical, operational, financial, quality, safety, and client satisfaction metrics.
• Partner with client leaders to develop and implement workforce health strategies that improve employee well-being, reduce occupational injury risk, minimize lost work time, and optimizeworkforce productivity.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and utilize data analytics to identify trends, improve outcomes, and support evidence-based clinical practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, behavioral health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care delivery.
• Oversee occupational injury management programs, including triage processes, early intervention efforts, return-to-work planning, and case oversight to support optimal employee outcomes.
• Evaluate clinical workflows, staffing models, and resource utilization to improve efficiency, service delivery, and patient experience.
• Support business development, implementation, and expansion activities for new and existing client relationships.
• Develop, implement, and maintain nursing practice standards, clinical protocols, and competency programs to ensure consistency and quality across locations.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and professional development efforts for nursing leadership and clinical staff.
• Prepare and present operational, clinical, and quality performance reports to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
• Serve as a clinical and operational subject matter expert for occupational health, workplace injury prevention, workforce health management, and nursing practice.

Qualifications

Education/Credentials


Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree
Major: Nursing
Degree must be from an accredited college or university.

 

Education Details:
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration (MBA), or related healthcare field strongly preferred.
Certifications and/or Licenses:
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) of practice required.

Job-Related Experience
Customarily has at least the following experience:
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive nursing experience in occupational health, employee health, primary care, ambulatory care, or related clinical settings.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with responsibility for managing clinical operations, nursing teams, and healthcare programs.
• Experience overseeing multiple clinic locations, regions, departments, or service lines preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in occupational medicine, including injury prevention, OSHA compliance, medical surveillance programs, workers' compensation case management, return-to work programs, and workplace health initiatives.
• Experience with primary care service delivery, population health initiatives, preventive care, and chronic disease management programs preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide operational and nursing leadership to managers overseeing primary care services while ensuring alignment with organizational quality, patient experience, and performance objectives.
• Experience leading interdisciplinary teams including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, athletic trainers, care managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Proven success managing clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Experience utilizing healthcare data, analytics, and performance metrics to drive operational effectiveness and improve clinical outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with employer clients, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
• Experience with budgeting, staffing, workforce planning, and resource management.
• Strong background in change management, program implementation, and process improvement.
• Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems required; Epic experience preferred.
• Experience supporting business growth, client implementation, and operational expansion initiatives preferred.
